Description
“from the inside out” Private pressing#BG-630-8. Here’s a review from “Archivist – Vintage Vinyl Jesus Music” by Ken Scott. Can a keyboard album without any guitar possibly be any good? Indeed it can. Quite good in fact. Much of From The Inside Out has a dreamy atmospheric quality, poetic lyrics attached to an artful blending of piano and synthesizer, often with a melodic prog touch ala early Jeff Johnson or Elton John. The synth brings a welcome psych edge to a couple tracks: organ-like on the elegant mysterious ‘Time’, gurgling with a spacey phased tremolo effect on ‘Song Of Wonder’. A couple of the lyrical ballads are similar to Larry Norman solo at the piano. Ditto for the bluesy keyboard bangin’ on ‘Loop To My Loo’ which you’d absolutely swear was Larry. Nice femme backing vocal on ‘Distant Lights’. Other titles: ‘Light Shine’, ‘So Very Alone’, ‘Madman’, ‘Songbird’, ‘Seasons Passing By’, ‘The Stranger’, ‘Roll Away The Stone’ – thirteen original songs in all. Cover has a b&w photo of Bill shirtless in his denim overalls. His hand-written testimony is copied on the inner sleeve. Includes the original inner sleeve. Vinyl is in mint minus condition. Cover is in VG+ condition. There’s writing on the front. All seams are intact.
