-A pioneer group of rock and roll : guitarist and lead singer Bill Haley, featured saxophonist Joey D'Ambrose, steel guitarist Billy Williamson, pianist Johnny Grande, bass player Marshall Lytle and drummer Dick Richards.

-This Decca 10" album is considered by many collectors to be the first ever rock and roll album. The eight selections found on this elusive 10" L.P. provided the raw energy and driving beat which helped in no small way to help establish "THE SOUND OF ROCK 'N ROLL".

-Visual grade: VG+, a few clicks and pops throughout but nothing too distracting, the music is greater than the surface noise, and the sound leaps from the grooves. This was a great party record and almost always shows up worn out. This copy has defied the percentages and is one of few to have survived the mid 1950's dance parties in collector's condition , and is worthy of a restoration if deemed necessary by the new owner.

-Matrix numbers are MG4017T5 5560S-1 on side one and MG4018T5 5560S-2 on side two and are machine stamped.

-labels: Strong VG+, both sides have residue where a sticker has fallen off, there are spindle marks on both sides, no writing of any kind. The labels are bright and clean, and side one has a tiny (1/4") tear within the silver lines at the centre right hand side (see scan). The labels are reversed at the factory, side one is actually side two and side two is actually side one.

-Jacket: VG+  The colours are bright, vivid, the members photographed faces are as clear as the day the jacket was printed. There are signs of storage soiling on the front cover, not significant however, and the back cover has excellent print and the background is still quite white but also with signs of storage soiling. The spine has a 2" split, the bottom is completely split and the top is intact. There is yellow residue along the top and bottom where previously applied scotch tape has fallen off.
