Bill Haley Rock N Roll Stage Show LP BRUNSWICK 1956 1st UK Press [Ex/Vg+]

Description

This is one seriously early R&R record which first appeared on record shelves END OF SUMMER 1956. To put this into context ELVIS PRESLEY'S debut album only entered the UK charts a couple of months later.
A genuine 1st press of RnR Stage Show on UK BRUNSWICK. Due to the printers dating the covers each month in the 50's we can accurately date pressing to September 1956. This is within 1 month of the album hitting the shop shelves. The vinyl is mega heavy-weight 'unbreakable'. Tax code - "RT". = 1956. Note the LP comes housed in an original scalloped 1st cover [dated 1956/9]. Stampers 1G/12H - making it one of the earliest copies to hit the shelves. We also have an original inner sleeve from the period too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) This Lp is in excellent condition - quite apart from the fact that it is genuine 1956. For the vintage - preservation is absolutely off-the-scale. This bad boy is in excess of 65 years old. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, and a superficial trail per side - absolutely nothing troublesome or feelable. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Difficult to believe a record from '56 can deliver this level after this passage of time. It plays clean throughout. I was also impressed to see it can still deal with high dynamic moments of brass. NO signs of groove wear at all. It is a stellar performer throughout. The audio quality is highly addictive. Can only make out a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side e.g.  in HTTN, and one isolated tick. Other that that a stellar performer.
Cover (Vg+) In lovely shiny condition - these flimsy covers from the 50's are incredibly difficult to find in anything approaching decent condition. The front is superb with hardly any ageing and just a tiny nick down at the bottom edge. The rear looks great with just the faintest touch of ageing, but looking very spritely. A little bit of wear to the bottom flipback. Let me assure you all flipbacks are secure and will not give you trouble. There's very little edge wear. Incredibly tidy for the vintage.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits. Bag present. A couple of blemishes on rear.
