Description
A very rare copy of the legendary Billie Holiday's first ever record! Issued in the US in the year 1933 during their 'blue wax' marketing campaign, the record was said to have sold at most 300 copies. Backed by Benny Goodman's stellar jazz band she joyfully sings 'Your Mother's Son In Law' on the B-side trombonist Jack Teagarden sings 'Tappin' The Barrel', an equally catchy tune.
Record has some surface level scratches and scuffs but is a very strong player, around E, with there being only some minor distortion on some of Billie's high notes.
This will make an excellent addition to the collection of any jazz afficionado, historian, or Billie Holiday fan!
