Description

Billie Holiday 78 Record OKEH label God Bless The Child/Solitude.  Written in 1939 by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr. and first recorded on the OKEH label on May 9, 1941, God Bless the Child has been named one of the Songs of the Century by the Recording Industry Association of America and the National Endowment for the Arts. (In My) Solitude on the reverse side sung by Billie Holiday is also a treasure.  I have played both sides of the record, and they play beautifully with no skips or jumps. The Solitude side has one tiny loss of shellac in the outer black circle, which of course has no effect on the sound. I do not have the original paper sleeve, so I will ship in an unrelated sleeve. The starting price is $75.00. Purchaser also pays for the cost of postage and the cost of postal insurance.
