Description

An album of three 78 rpm records by Billie Holiday, released by Commodore Records. The sleeve features striking artwork by John De Vries.

The three 78's are:

  1. Commodore #559 - I Cover the Waterfront b/w Lover Come Back to Me (Eddie Heywood -piano; John Simmons - bass; "Big Sid" Catlett - drums). This record is in VG condition, with some marks, but no chips, greying, or cracks.
  2. Commodore #553 - I'll Be Seeing You b/w I'll Get By ( Eddie Heywood - piano; Doc Cheatham - trumpet; Vic Dickenson - trombone; Leon Davis - alto sax; Teddy Walters - guitar; John Simmons -bass; "Big Sid" Catlett - drums) This record looks quite playable, with clean surfaces, but there is a laminate crack on side one.
  3. Commodore #526 - Strange Fruit b/w Fine and Mellow (Billie Holiday and Her Orchestra w/ trumpet obligato by Frank Newton). This record also looks playable, but shows more graying and wear, and also has a laminate crack on side one.

The album itself is in excellent condition. Colors are strong, and the spine is intact. There is some slight handling and edge wear, and a small chip in the lower binding. I grade the album VG+.

US buyer pays calculated media postage including insurance. Overseas bidders pay calculated air postage without insurance, although I recommend adding insurance on 78's, and will quote a price if you choose to insure.
