COMMENTS: Beautiful original copy of this great 2 LP set that was briefly available on vinyl in 1998. In 1995, Nora Guthrie, Woody's daughter, approached Billy Bragg to put music to some of the many unfinished songs that Guthrie had written between the years of 1939 and 1967. Shortly after, Bragg approached the Chicago band Wilco for this collaboration. They were joined by guest stars such as Natalie Merchant, slide guitarist Corey Harris, and violinist Eliza Carthy and the result was Mermaid Avenue, a critically acclaimed Grammy nominated album.
