Description
Unmistakably Billy Paul, as no one else sounded like him. His known Venture recording dates align with this being a potential candidate for Feelin’ Good at the Cadillac Club. Its vibe is consistent with the show tunes in his repertoire at the time, though I have not nailed down whether it is a cover or original. There are a million songs with this title. Any help is appreciated and will be shared here.
The ingredients for the Philly sound to come were all here, but they had not yet dialed in the ratios. The strings are here in a big way.
The record is rough, but I believe there’s enough data here to extract and clean up with modern techniques. My hope is that IF it’s a lost track, it makes it onto a future reissue package.
Any questions at all, please ask.
