Description

Billy Wooten

The Wooden Glass Recorded Live  (Interim)  (1972)

Here it is, the jazz funk grail by Mr. Wooten and his Nineteenth Whole outfit, coming much heavier and much funkier than their other efforts on Westbound. Big drums, funky get down guitars and of course vibes keeping pace with entire head nod-a-thon. Featured on the Funky 16 Corners comp, this record is an absolute must have for the combo's covers of "In The Rain" and "We've Only Just Begun", plus the og "Monky Hips & Rice". If you're a fan of Stark Reality or Dave Pike, you will be right at home with this record. This is not a collector's copy, but really, how often do you see this one up for sale? Right. Check the soundclip, because the best tracks on here are salvaged from the condition. Own a copy of this grail, for what is sure to be a bargain price.

Record Grade: VG-  (surface dirt and scratches abound on this disc, but the play, incredibly, is pretty good on the best tracks. "Monkey Hips & Rice" has some prominent clicks on the last third of the track. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the three weakest tracks " Joy Ride", "Day Dreaming", and "Love Is Here" all have one skip in them. The skip on "Joy Ride" is a locking skip.)

Cover: VG-  (Heavy ring wear front and back, bottom seam is split)

As a fairly new seller to ebay I promise to live up to my feedback as a buyer. I have been around the buying game long enough to know what it feels like to be burned by poor grading. As a seller I promise to deliver the most accurate grading possible w/ both visual and aural details about each item I list. I don't do bulk listings, which allows me to spend more time with each auction giving attention to the details of each item for sale. Thanks again for checking out my listings!
