Description

Here's a 1972 rare groove LP from Indianapolis, "The Wooden Glass Recorded Live" featuring Billy Wooten, and featuring the monster cuts "Monkey Hips and Rice" and "In the Rain."  Even in this area, this is a very hard LP to find.  This is not the best copy, by any stretch, although it is acceptable as a starter or as a player copy.  The cover grades VG, due to moisture damage at the bottom, and particularly at the lower right corner, which has two inches of seam splitting, and some general tearing due to water.  The rest of the cover prsents very well; it was actually partly in shirnk when I bought it, but since there was a bit of mildew, I removed the remaining shrink.  Anyway, eighty percent of the cover grades Ex, but the ugly corner compels a low grade.  The disc is a fairly ugly VG-, not due to moisture, but simply from having been played pretty hard, and not handled well.  There are numerous scuffs and scratches throughout, including at least two or three feelable ones.  The disc plays through fine, but has moderate surface noise throughout.  On "Monkey Hips and Rice," the surface noise is distracting toward the beginning, but once the tune revs up, the music overpowers any sonic problems.  All in all, this is an acceptable copy, but only because of the extreme rarity. US shipping is $7 priority mail, plus optional insurance.  Overseas airmail shipping is $12 to Europe or $14 to Asia.  All overseas buyers must use Paypal.  I also prefer Paypal for domestic bidders, but other methods work, too. Thanks for looking, and please email any questions -- Paul
