Description

This is a binder I pulled from a home about 20 years ago that was part of a house clean out. TONS of great stuff. The family were Jewish and had escaped Germany in the 30s with a BOATLOAD of furniture, decorative items, clothes, etc that they SAVED for 50 years. Among the stuff was this binder of records. They are in MINTY condition with exceptional shine to them. These records seem like they were hardly ever played. Artists include the controversial Zarah Leander, Richard Tauber, Gitta Alpar, the illustrious Pola Negri, Hans Rehmann, Trude Hesterberg, Margo Lion who was a big influence on Marlene Dietrich, Diva Fritzi Massary, Max Pallenberg and Willie Pragen. This is a real time capsule of artists available in Germany at this time. Many were banished for being Jewish and for sure most of their records destroyed. The music ranges from opera to torch songs to real cabaret type stuff. Some might be from movies. I've been listening to these as I put this together today with a lightweight tone arm 78 player and they all sound GREAT. What a range of lovely stuff. Nice stamps from Berlin on a few. Thought about separating it out but I'll leave that to you. Binder is in crappy condition but who cares? Buyer to pay shipping. Will ship international but you will get insurance plus USPS shipping to you. Buyer to pay ACTUAL shipping once we determine what that is.
