V-DISC 796. Adeste Fideles/ The Christmas Song/ Jingle Bells. Most people reading this listing are aware of what V-Discs were but for those who don't know here goes: V-Discs were pressed strictly for the US Military during World War II. They were not for sale and were not available in stores. Recording artists donated their time to record special versions that were not available elsewhere. The versions released on V-Disc were not the same as the commercial releases. In other words the versions of these Christmas songs were not the same as the Bing Crosby songs on Decca. Also, although they were 78 RPM records they were pressed on vinyl NOT shellac as you would expect.
This disc grades VG with minor surface wear - still retains a nice gloss. There is minor surface noise but it does not overwhelm the music. A sound clip of the first song has been provided.

GRADING
Near Mint or Mint Minus - Top condition with the most minimal of wear.
VG++ - Not quite near mint but super clean. A nice desirable copy.
VG+ - Signs of wear but no significant defects.
VG - More obvious signs of wear but VG does NOT mean beat.
VG minus - Obvious, moderate to heavy wear. OK for a filler copy.
G - Serious wear. Only acceptable for the rarest of records.
