Description
Great vintage classical find! This is Wagner - Tristan Und Isolde excerpts - with performance by Birgit Nilsson with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (VPO) under the direction of Hans Knappertsbusch. On the desirable silver / black Decca Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound (ffss) label (SXL-2184) from the UK. Nice disc with some scattered light surface marks / hairlines that shouldn't adversely impact playability. It is a bit dirty with some surface lint and such and could use a good expert cleaning. Unfortunately, I don't have the right gear to do that, so I leave them as I find them. I believe this disc will look like and play like a solid VG+ once cleaned. Good labels on both sides. Comes in original laminated fold-over jacket with scalloped edge. Jacket is pretty clean with just light wear but is a bit "wavy" as it may have gotten damp at some point and you can see a water line on back of jacket. I don't see any lingering after effects like mold or anything though. Two pieces of tape on reverse at one of the fold-overs. Anyway, here's your chance to get a nice playable copy of this quite rare disc at a reasonable starting bid. What you see in the pictures is what you will get. A good value.
