Description

Original late 60s/early 70s Lp on JIHAD label  In trail off vinyl

side one:1001A  28-4 1166 K662  side two:1001B K663

Lp is clean very shiny VG   has light sleeve scuffs, two long but ultra light scratches on side one. These particular marks do not cause any specific noise. Record plays with light to medium surface noise. Does have random pops throughout, mostly at beginning of both sides. Still a very clean LP. No skips.

Cover is a true private press type thing with textured plain black back cover  with pasted on front slick.  Cover has corner wear, taped seams and spine (done very well with narrow pieces of tape).

Front slick has ringwear, creases and hard glue bubbles from original pasting. Very possibly a truly hand made cover.

LeROI JONES  recites poetry to a background of DOO WOP vocals. All related to Black Power and the plight of Blacks in 1960s White society. He does not pull any punches at all here. Truly interesting and disturbing in parts. Parts of this album go into an almost Avant Garde free form of wailing vocals  and percussion with a primitive psychedelic feel.

A genuine artifact of 1960s Black Power Movement.
