BLACK GOSPEL MUSIC AUCTION

ARTIST NAME: Bill Allen & The Gospelaires of Dayton, Ohio

TITLE: He Was A Friend of Mine   

LABEL: Miami Gospel Sound <PRIVATE PRESS>    

LABEL #: 1083

COVER: VG+ the cover has some creasing on the lower right corner and a few age spots on the back. The cover has some great group photos on the back showing the guys singing their new record deal with famous producer James Lowe.

RECORD: VG+ the vinyl sounds great and is borderline VG++. Despite the numerous misspelled words and the misspelled name of the group, this is the WORLD Famous Gospelaires of Dayton, Ohio. This is easily the hardest to find and RAREST LP on the group as it is the last that they recorded. This LP was recorded just after the death of the great Bob Washington and featured for the first and only time Rev. Jeff Brown longtime lead singer of the Sunset Travelers who recorded on Peacock Records. Bill Allen is still carrying on the group today.
