This is THE VERY FIRST PRESS of this classic album Don't be fooled by other auctions telling you that they have the first pressing.
Proof:
1. MATRIX. A: V06 1Y *1 420 12 5 B: V06 2Y *1 420 12 5
2. GATEFOLD SLEEVE. Three versions of the sleeve exist. The first issue (This one) had an erroneous copyright warning stating that “Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings…”. The 2nd version corrected this to ”Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings…”. Both these versions had band member and production credits in capital letters throughout. The third version of the sleeve changed all credits into upper and lower case and also adds in composition and publishing credits. All versions (including subsequent reissues) all mis-spell Ozzy Osbourne as Ossie Osborne.
3. LABEL. Large swirl logo above spindle. “VERTIGO” below spindle hole. “A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT” appears below “VERTIGO” Upper case song titles with track numbers.
Grading of this Item:
Gatefold Sleeve Outer - Colour is clear and crisp, 'Vertigo' and 'Black Sabbath' are clean and clear. Shelf wear to edges evident and spine is worn. Pink spine writing ledgeble Gatefold Sleeve Inner - Clear, black and with the odd white spotting. Some creasing to spine. Think this has got rained on then dried.
Vinyl A : Hairlines exist. Line over track 1/2. Does not affect play. Vinyl B : Hairlines exist. Does not affect play
Inner : No original vertigo swirl inner im afraid. Will Supply with new white inner
I have play graded after a good professional clean on my Rega TTable with a quality cart and has no cracks, pops, jumps, nothing apart from quality audio reproduction.
Audio quality is amazing.
All in all this is a great example of a classic album.
Will only post tracked and signed with appropriate insurance for sale price.
