Description
For sale is this ultra scarce UK 1st Pressing vinyl LP of BLACK SABBATH - MASTER OF REALITY on Vertigo Records 1971 in original box sleeve with embossed text and iconic reversed Op-Art Vertigo Records logo on the Side A label. I believe this boxed first pressing originally came with a poster which is not present here. Please read the description and study the photos carefully.
The catalogue number is : 6360 050.
The matrix numbers are: 6360050 1Y//1▽420 1 (Side A) 6360050 2Y//1▽420 1 (Side B).
You will know that pristine copies of this pressing go for high hundreds of pounds, even four figures. This is not a pristine copy but it is still a playable copy of this ultra scarce and sought after record.
Condition:
Please note I am not a professional. I am selling a few of my old records. I am not experienced in grading vinyl. I can only give my own honest appraisal. That said: Condition overall is Good+ (G+): The original box sleeve is Good (G) It has become quite flattened as most of them apparently did and has a lot of edge and corner wear particularly along the top edge resulting in some loss of the glossy black surface along the edges. The front and back surfaces are pretty good with some very slight creasing here and there. The plain white inner is very clean with the beginnings of a split along the bottom. I have play tested the disc - I would conservatively grade it as Good+: Side A is probably VG - there are myriad surface marks and light scratches some just barely deep enough to feel with a fingernail that are audible as low level crackle throughout but not too intrusive. Side B is probably G+.There are many of the same light surface marks and crackle and one noticeably deeper scratch that is audible across tracks two and three but not intolerably so. Overall I found the disc to be perfectly playable and on my friend's very expensive record player it played through without skipping.
