Description

An original spring '73 pressing of MOR on UK Vertigo Spaceship label. By this point Sabbath had already kicked off with the record company 'Vertigo' -  and were in the process of a speedy switch to WWA Records. For a VERY short time Vertigo started a print run of the first four Sabbath Lps on the Spaceship - for it only to be abruptly brought to a halt at as low as 1,000 copies per title. These copies, believe it or not, are amongst the rarest of ALL Sabbath general release Lps. Matrix 1/1. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original embossed box cover. We also have the original inner sleeve too.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. It's banging out these classic Sabbath hits with aplomb. Pretty clean player by and large. The only thing I could detect was a touch of light background in the fussy 'Orchid' section. I also detected a couple of ticks as 'Sweet Leaf closes out and a couple more in 'Orchid'. Even the mega fussy SOLITUDE plays pretty good with just some light presence. To be honest - it's actually difficult to find this ultra-fussy track playing any cleaner than this. Overall - a great little player. And actually a real tricky one to track down.
Cover (Vg+) Has lost it's box shape a bit and the spines are now at 45 degrees. To be fair - nearly all copies will have done this by this pint in time. Frnt is looking pretty tidy. The rear exhibits a couple of creases and a couple of scratch marks. Some light edge wear in the odd spot and a few stress creases. But overall - pretty good I'd argue.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. Light ageing.
