• Side B: NEL 6004 B with additional markings visible in close-ups (such as “V 694 A” and variations in handwriting styles—typical of UK pressings)
• Vinyl Color: Transparent red vinyl – rare variant
• Label Design: Silver text on black NEMS label
• Sleeve Design: Bold purple/pink text on black background (non-embossed version)
Authenticity and Variant Notes:
• This copy is an official UK pressing released under NEMS in 1976 (not the original 1971 Vertigo release).
• The red translucent vinyl is an uncommon and collectible variant. Most NEMS pressings were on standard black vinyl.
• The cover is the standard flat sleeve version, not the original box-style or poster-included Vertigo issue.
Condition Assessment (Based on Photos):
• Vinyl: Appears NM (Near Mint) – no visible scratches or marks, vibrant red clarity.
• Labels: Clean with no spindle wear – NM.
• Sleeve: Crisp print, minimal wear – VG+ to NM.
• While not a Vertigo first press, this 1976 NEMS reissue is highly desirable due to the red vinyl format.
• It’s one of the more attractive NEMS pressings visually, and sonically it still retains great depth, depending on mastering variation.
• A solid investment-grade piece for Sabbath collectors and 70s metal vinyl enthusiasts.
