An absolute rarity in the prog/doom scene which does not come up very often at all. This is of course the very first press of the Sabbath's all time classic album. This vinyl is one of the best Master of Reality copies I have ever encountered.
It has a deep glossy sheen and on very close inspection only one very fine very short hairline can be seen. On replay the sound of the heavy vinyl is magnificent!!! There are NO jumps. NO clicks and importantly also NO background noises, an absolute joy to listen to this STUNNING audio!!! "Into The Void", a personal favourite, sounds just out of this world. So much better than the CD re-issue!!! The album plays great throughout, a credit to these heavy first presses. I play my records on the very revealing Linn Sondek with B&W floorstanders and Rotel amplifier and it really comes up trumps!!! There is not ever any background noise. Some achievement for a 38 year old record. The winner of this auction will likely be very pleased.
The top opening box type embossed sleeve is also splendid!! The flap is complete and has NO tears. The lamination retains a beautiful gloss. A couple of small underlaminate creases do not distract from the gorgeous allover appearance!!! Most of these sleeves will have a fair amount of damage and 90% of the ones I have come across were in some state. VO price code in box on the backsleeve.
All in all a very rare first press Sab third album which is getting increasingly hard to obtain in any shape or condition!!!
The labels are NM.
