Black Sabbath, Paranoid LP 1970, Vertigo Swirl First Press 1Y//1 Release
Vertigo 6360 011 UK Stereo (First Edition 1Y//1 & 2Y//1 pressing).
A great chance to buy a very rare 1970 First Press copy of Paranoid by Black Sabbath in excellent condition.
Vinyl:
I have play-graded (as it should be played - extremely loudly!) and would describe the vinyl condition as Excellent +. I have played both sides through and they play extremely cleanly. A couple of very faint surface traces evident beneath a light are superficial and do not detract from the sound in any way. This is a very honest appraisal – please see the gradings I use below.
Record Sleeve:
As evident from the photos, outer cover some edge fading and wear along the spine. Otherwise is very good condition for a 40-year old sleeve! The gatefold opens to a picture of the band and is in excellent condition.
Notes about this pressing:
• The majority of Pressings from 1970 are 1Y//2 & 2Y//2. This pressing is the original 1Y//1 & 2Y//1 issue.
• A difference with this issue is that the swirl logo on Side A is larger and the Vertigo text is at the bottom.
• Also the 1970 text is above the 33 1/3 as opposed to below on later issues.
GRADINGS
* MINT- is superb, almost like new. No marks, scratches, clicks, noise, or anything else.
* EX is also VERY nice, 2-3 light marks perhaps, no disturbing noise, great sound quality.
* VG+, a nice player, but probably has some visual impairments, and some clicks or light noise in places; always see the individual description.
* VG: Rarely put of for sale, an ok copy, but always see the individual description.
