Description
A 1st pressing of Paranoid on large Vertigo swirl in the UK [not the very 1st label variation]. Matrix 1/1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold sleeve. Also included is the original Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Cover (Ex) A difficult one to find in nice condition as that black surface is usually exhibiting a fair bit of wear. Not here, this copy is in remarkable condition with a nice solid black cover and no fading at all. All surfaces are in very very nice condition - only a few small indentations on the rear. Edge wear is light and as you can see from the pics the spine is totally intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity too.
Vinyl (Vg/G) OK, so the vinyl here does not keep to the same high standards set by the cover. Please take on board that this copy has seen quite a bit of use and it shows. Both surfaces exhibit numerous marks - one or two are starting to get feelable. None, however, cause skipping. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a largely VERYGOOD level of playback with deviations. So, the negatives first - Expect a bit of crackle and occasional pop. This is more noticeable at the start of both sides, but settles down after a while. After this the listener will get a decent level of playback, but with a bit of lower level audible interference. Thankfully this is Sabbath and not Simon & Garfunkel ! - so for many of the tracks this isn't that noticeable. But do expect audible interference particularly in the quieter sections. Anyone serious about purchasing this needs to take this all on board, first, before considering a purchase.
