Description
Be assured this is a genuine FIRST UK pressing of BLACK SABBATH denoted by the 'large' swirl on side two AND the credit ' A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' at six o'clock on the same side. To be a genuine 1st pressing the LP must feature this credit (despite what you read on other auctions). These are very rare and only featured on the first 5,000 pressed. You are unlikely to find one as nice as this.... the Cover is IMMACULATE with only the tiniest rubbing at corners. There are however two small filing stickers which I have not dared try to remove. The inner gatefold is also superb with only minimal spotting and light creasing. Band names are correctly capitalized , and OSBORNE mis-pelling present and correct. A very easy EX+ .... Vinyl shows some light wear but retains nice shine. A very small number of hairlines are visible. Playback quality just shows the minimum surface noise but far less than almost all copies I've heard. Visually EX-. ... released in 1970 on Spiral Vertigo, VO 6 847 903 VTY this is where it all began. This is my own copy and the result of 30 years of upgrades. I recently acquired a stone MINT copy (for a small fortune).
