Description

Sabbath were still more than capable of knocking out an absolute classic in '75.
An original 1st press of SABOTGAE on UK NEMS from '75. Matrix 1/1 - very 1st cut. Please not that the early pressings SHOULD mention 'Nems - Tapes & Records' on the label. The vinyl comes housed in an original TEXTURED cover. We also have the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has seen relatively light use. There are a couple of trail marks observable on side 2 - thankfully they don't seem to be that audible [detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Monster riffing on this title - Sabbath were in no way going to change course. Mega bass tones. Clean percussion - which suggests light use as transients are the 1st to go! Really clean into the quieter acoustic moments - which admittedly are fleeting[!]. I was initially a bit worried about the marks on side 2 - they are visible. However, under critical analysis from my bat ears - I'm picking out relatively little deviation. The only vaguely noticeable issue is a couple of isolated ticks and one click midway through 'INSANE'. Which is pretty good going - and given the quality exhibited elsewhere - a small price to pay.  A couple of brief crackles in the quiet section in 'WRIT'.  i.e. practically nothing that would trouble the onslaught from the mighty Sabbath.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Incredible preservation - not sure I've seen one this damn tidy. The early textured copies do have a tendency to surface looking pretty worn - which make this example all the more remarkable. There's practically no surface wear front or back - that is highly unusual. No creasing and great colour retention - the aesthetic is very well preserved. Edge wear is close to non-existent....this is like..errrr..a miracle on this title. The spine is 100% intact. Openings sharp and firm. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity..
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bit cut clean and tidy. Bag present. No splits.
