Ever fancied listening to the Sabbath Debut with the best possible audio available - and doing so without having to shell out a fortune on an early 70's Vertigo pressing? Well, this could be that copy...the WWA pressing was quality and I can vouch for the fact that it is certainly no slouch - it's well up there with an original Vertigo. But the great thing is it's an economical purchase with a high-end audio return...
An original early 1974 press of the Sabbath debut on the WWA label [silver text]. Matrix 1/2. The vinyl comes housed in original deluxe gatefold printed in England.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. I've heard some fine Vertigo renditions of this LP, but I gotta be honest, this LP is frickin' awesome. Beautiful tonality and bags of detail - an audiophile's dream. Not perfect, but quite frankly very close. If you want to hear just how this LP was intended to sound give this copy serious consideration. Interference is minimal. All we detected was a couple of light crackles in a couple of spots ..i.e. almost nothing.
Cover (Ex+) These debut covers are a bugger to find in top condition. They might look good in the pics, but what lies beneath? This copy is a solid Ex+...no nasties hidden beneath that complex image. A lovely flat surface with no hint of curl or heavy use. Edge wear is light and the only vague problem is on the spine where the word Black Sabbath is worn - and that really is it. The interior is immaculate too and that is not any easy find. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a super example.
