Black Sabbath’s 1976 studio curveball gets the full Rhino treatment on this limited 2016 U.S. pressing, remastered and pressed on heavyweight white 180g wax.
Technical Ecstasy found Sabbath pushing beyond their established doom-heavy formula without losing Tony Iommi’s unmistakable guitar weight. “Back Street Kids” and “Rock ’N’ Roll Doctor” deliver the swagger, “You Won’t Change Me” brings the darkness, and the towering “Dirty Women” closes the album with one of Iommi’s nastiest late-’70s riffs. Bill Ward also takes the lead vocal on the beautifully strange “It’s Alright.”
Part of Rhino’s now out-of-print 2016 colored Black Sabbath series, this edition comes in the original gatefold presentation and is identified by catalog number RR1 2969 and UPC 081227946685. A sharp collector copy of one of the harder titles to complete from the eight-album colored run. Rhino confirms this edition as a limited 180g white pressing.
