Description

Original UK Vertigo label stereo press LP.

The seventh LP by Black Sabbath and issued in September 1976. It was recorded in Miami in June, and according to Tony Iommi "...nobody would take responsibility for the production. No one wanted to bring in an outside person for help, and no one wanted the whole band to produce it. So they left it all to me!". The band next door were the Eagles who were recording Hotel California, who had to stop as Sabbath were too loud. This is the first pressing with the lyric inner and 1Y//5 2Y//6 matrices and Mely's stampers.
  The Robert Stace matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and very light storage rubbing on and a sticker mark the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the lyric inner is intact & in EX condition and the plain inner is in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with no nasty marks or scratches and only one or two faint & wispy hairlines visible under bright light on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, undamaged, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle, pops or hiss & no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall it is a really, great loud & clear listen.
  The matrix nos. are; 9102750, 1Y//5 mother stamper 1B-1-1-6, 2Y//6 mother stamper 1B-1-2-8. This is one of the early 1st pressings of the original 1976 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
  All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!   All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide.
  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
