Original authentic very early 1st pressing factory sealed copy of Black Sabbath’s debut album released in the US by Warner Bros. in June, 1970. First and foremost, I’d like to explain why we’ve identified this copy as a very early pressing with the 1st print army green Warner Bros. labels. When you have a sealed copy of this album in your hands it’s always hard to identify whether it’s the original or the repressing. Initially, released in 1970 this album had several repressings that came out in between 1973 and 1977. During this time, the design of the cover, along with the catalog number indicated on it, didn’t change which makes it very hard to identify the pressing of the the sealed copies of this album, if it wasn’t due to one circumstance. We acquired this copy, and the copy of the “Master of Reality” album also currently listed for an auction, from a collector who is quite meticulous and had the habit of cataloging his purchases. The purchase of this album dates back to the end of November, 1970. We don’t have any reasons to mistrust his notes. Possibly, it’s also worth referring to the sticker “Factory Sealed For Your Protection” affixed to the shrink wrap on the album’s front cover. The sticker is executed in the style that was popular in the 60s and up to the early 70s. In my opinion, it’s also a very important circumstance which should be taken into consideration when identifying this copy as a very early pressing. If my arguments haven’t convinced you that this copy is a very early pressing, we're ready to guarantee a full refund in the case if you decide to open it and don't find the very early army green labels inside. All we’d ask you to do however would be to take a video of you opening the album. All of the early copies of this album pressed in 1970 contain the 1st print label variation, namely the army green Warner Bros. Records labels with the orange-blue “WB” shield logo having the “WS-1871” catalog number, unless it’s the club pressing with the “ST-93419”catalog number. The design of the label was changed by Warner Bros.on the subsequent pressings to the “Burbank” style one containing the image of a palm tree alley. This year’s February marks the 53rd Anniversary of this album’s release, perhaps one of the first albums of the heavy metal style. It’s a very interesting fact that the Rolling Stone magazine identified the model that posed for the cover photo only two years ago, during the celebration of the album’s 50th Anniversary. She is Louisa Livingston who was about 18 years old when the photo was taken by Keith Macmillan. You can easily find her as she is quite active in the social networks.

The album is in pristine Mint Minus condition. The shrink wrap with the original breathe holes, two on the front cover, remains fully intact and doesn't have any tears, splits or missing pieces, only having some very light shelf wear. The cover has only some very light bumping to the top and bottom right corner which is barely noticeable.★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
