Black Sabbath, Vol 4, 1st UK, Vertigo swirly Excellent

	£		53
	$		70

Up for auction here is a really excellent copy of the 1972 album Black Sabbath Vol 4! This album is on the original Vertigo swirl label and is the 1st UK press!!!

Outer Sleeve.

Original matt finish gatefold sleeve! The serial number is present on the spine AND on the back of the sleeve which is only consistent with early pressings! The sleeve is in excellent condition, this sleeve is famous for showing ring wear and generally fading but this is not true in this case! The sleeve has only minor corner and edge wear and has no ring wear and very little fading if any at all! On the back cover there is a small white 'dot' which may be a scuff mark, it is just above the 'a' in 'Sabbath' and can be seen in the photos I have uploaded, this is the only significant blemish! The outer sleeve does have minor corner and edge wear but I do mean minor! The inside of the gatefold is excellent+! The original photo booklet is present and is still perfectly well attached! The pages of the booklet show hardly any wear at all! The inside back cover has the track listing WITHOUT track times, again this is consistent with 1st UK presses!

The Inner Sleeve.

The inner is the original poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve! It is also in excellent condition! The poly lining is still fully attached and the sleeve has NO splits ot tears! The inner does have some crease marks but that is to be expected of an inner sleeve that is 38 years old!

The Vinyl.

The vinyl is in superb condition! There are virtually no scratch marks visible and you have to look very closely under bright light to see any scuff marks at all! The matrix numbers are 6360 071 1Y//1 and 6303 071 2Y//1!! Again this is consistent with the 1st UK press! Also, side 1 has 'porky' hand etched into the run-off and side 2 has 'pecko' hand etched into the run off, these hand etched engineers 'signatures' are only on 1st UK presses!

The Labels.

The labels are beautifully clean! Side 'A' has the famous Vertigo swirl and is completely untouched with very little sign of 'spidering' or spindle marks! Similarly side 2, the white label with the track listing etc is superbly clean with only faint 'spidering' or spindle marks visible! The side 2 label also carries the 'All rights of the producer...' text around the rim, once again this is consistent with early UK presses only!!!

All in all this is a superb pressing of a rare and very collectable record! Don't miss out! Free postage is to the UK only, bidders from overseas please contact me for your postage rates. Bidders from overseas will be required to pay for international signed for postage, I cannot risk sending this fabulous record out by normal air mail.

Please note, I have no turntable so gradings are strictly visual.

If you have any questions please contact me and I will respond to your enquiry promptly.

Bidders from outside the UK will be required to pay for international signed for postage as I have had a couple of records go 'missing' lately and so signed for postage is the best way to protect both buyer and seller. Please contact me for postage rates if you are bidding from outside the UK.
