Description
An original 1st press of VOL 4 on the UK Vertigo label from 1972. Matrix 1/1. Etching 'Porky/Peko'. Please note labels are consistent with very 1st press - there's NO mention of 'Made In England. Also worth noting that Vol 4 was only available for about three months before the Vertigo swirl label was phased out. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover including inner photo pages. Please note 1st issue covers can be identified by the lack of track times in the interior and the "VO Price Code" on the rear. Also included is an original Vertigo swirl inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is minimal. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a superb rendition even the quieter acoustic tracks play CLEAN. A wonderful copy..difficult to better.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. These early covers have a kind of textured feel to them and many, by this time, are looking a bit warn and ropy to say the least. This copy has survived the years in very rude health! No excessive wear at all just the lightest handling wear a couple of age spots here and there. The interior is pretty much immaculate and those photo pages are all still attached and have not been heavily thumbed at all. Edge wear is pretty light and all the text on the spine is intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A very fine example.
Inner (Vg) One slight side split. It is rather aged.
