Description
Original 1970 CBS pressing of pagan prototype occult rock. Often unfairly compared to Black Sabbath, Black Widow painted their own world of nocturnal folk psychedelia, sounding much closer to Jethro Tull, Raw Material, or Mellow Candle. It's interesting that Black Widow evolved from the generic R&B rockers, Pesky Gee, whose sole album does not hint at this original sound and direction at all. Look up Black Widow's live footage online to take in how impressive they really were. It's a first pressing from England and a strong VG+ copy here. The cover has been well handled and reveals issues around the corners with some lamination lifted a bit. See the photos for all that. Both sides show various light lines and side one does have an extra slight marking that does not effect audio or playback. Sounds full, warm, and much closer to EX. It's not too bad condition all around when considering this album's rarity and reputation.
