Description
Black Sabbath
Paranoid
Vertigo U.K. 1970
Large swirl on label
Matrix stamps are very small but look to be:
A Side Matrix: 6 3 6 0 0 1 1 1 Y // 1 ? 4 2 0 1 2 (last digit indecipherable)
B Side Matrix: 6 3 6 0 0 1 1 2 Y // 1 ? 4 2 0 1 1 5
The sleeve is unlaminated as required for a 1st issue and, importantly, has the credit to Jim Simpson/Big Bear Management on the inner gatefold – this was immediately withdrawn as soon as it was issued due to contractual disputes between the band and Big Bear.
Condition
Sleeve - very good/excellent. There is some rubbing here and there, mostly on the lower edge but all titles and images, including spine are clear and bold.
Inner sleeve - good/very good. Original inner sleeve. There is a small split on one side and some general discolouration. There is a tear in the central aperture on one side.
Vinyl - appears excellent and plays through with only minor crackling here and there. No major scratches. Labels are in excellent condition.
Overall a fantastic example of the classic Sabbath album. Black Sabbath are currently on their 'Final' tour and these early albums are becoming much sought after.
Please bear in mind that postage is free so no hidden costs.
