Description

Extremely rare Folk LP, issued by WHM Records in 1979. The record has a catalogue number of WHM1922 and features 10 tracks;

side 1:
wetherby market/my love's in germany/pat's parlour-white cockade-devil amongst the taylors-nancy (tom clough)/boys o bedlam/coal hole cavalry
side 2:
hunted/danny daniel/band o' shearers/highland whisky-donkey reel-breakdown/a man's a man-i'll keep it with mine

The album was issued in very limited numbers and is very rarely offered for sale on ebay. Additionally, the record has been signed by members of the band, in biro, on the front. I cannot authenticate the signatures as they were on the cover when i bought it. However they do not appear to have been added recently and are written in biro, not a latter-day fancy felt tip pen! One of the signatures appears to be of Nina Szifris (the singer) but i'm not sure about the others.

condition:

record: the record plays wonderfully and i would grade it as a comfortable 'excellent', perhaps 'excellent+'. The surface has a lovely sheen and there are only a few, very minor, marks which you can see when holding the record under a light. None of the marks affect the sound at all and i would stress that they are very very minor.

labels: very nice with only slight spindle marks.

sleeve: the sleeve is in very good condition. however, there are a few things to point out. on the front and back you can see that, due to storage, the record outline has come through the sleeve. also there are a few small creases around the edge of the sleeve along with a little scuffing and wear at the corners. The original owner of the record also appears to have written his name on the cover - John Reed (unless that was a band member, but i don't think it was as he isn't mentioned on the sleeve).
