Description

A very hard to find original 1953 Herald 411.  This 78 rpm promo disc is awesome and is in collectible condition!
The last time an original surfaced on eBay was eight years ago.  Will you miss the opportunity to buy a lost gem?
Your winning bid includes FREE Media Mail Shipping within the USA, insurance, and signature confirmation. No international shipping.
This disc features great guitar work and driving sax breaks - it's a real rocker!
I only have an acoustic 78 rpm player, so the following links are from available youtube sources. They are NOT made directly from my offered disc. They are only provided for you to hear the musical content of H-411.

Without being able to play this disc, grading is visual. The record lays flat, it has great shine, surface rubs are the defect of note. Review the detailed photos and decide the letter grade for yourself.
I think it conservatively it would fall on the VJM scale at E- (78) VG- (LP). Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, few light scratches.  LP: Some wear, scratches and scuffs, but no skipped or repeat grooves.

SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Billy Tate was a Rhythm & Blues Pioneer. A blind guitarist and bass player, and a staple of Club Tijuana in New Orleans.
Herald records released more than their fair share of excellent R&B. Formed in late 1952 by Fred Mendelsohn, he struggled to keep Herald afloat for six months. In this period there were limited advertising dollars and Blind Billy Tate was one of the last two records produced before Mendelsohn's sold Herald to his partner in mid 1953. Bad timing for Billy’s first record. But that situation and these great tracks has made this disc so desirable today.
Finally, Tate received his break in 1954 on the Imperial label with Single Life, one of the best releases for Imperial’s the pre-rock and roll period.
Good luck to all the bidders! James.
