Description
Released in 1969, Blood, Sweat & Tears' 2nd album was a huge success for them. The album seamlessly blends Rock, Jazz, Blues and even some modern Classical music (Variation on a theme by Erik Satie) Singer David Clayton-Thomas established himself as a premiere vocalist with this Lp and was a big reason why the songs, 'Spinning Wheel', You've Made Me So Very Happy, And When I Die, became big hits. This early pressing (possibly a 1st) from 1969 on the "2-eye" Columbia labels, sounds PHENOMINAL. I was blown away by the clarity, separation, and punch (especially the percussion) of the instruments. The sonics on 'Smiling Phases' will knock you out! Extremely rare in this condition and certainly a strong consideration for a final upgrade copy.
Condition of Gatefold Jacket: Excellent(+)....in wonderful condition with only some minor wear to a couple of the corners and a ding to the upper spine. Evidence of some age discoloration in some spots but nothing too distractive....overall, a very solid example of this classic gatefold cover. Original inner-sleeve is included and has some splits but is still in Very Good condition. An Excellent quality inner will be included to house the precious record.
Condition of Record: Near Mint.....beautiful gloss to both surfaces with only a few faint hairlines that have no bearing on the audio....great example.
