Description

PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.

HIDEOUSLY rare female acid psych folk pressed privately on the Aggie label from 196?/197?   Release year is unclear as there is literally no information available on this 45 and the Aggie label had a grand total of just 1 release to its name (you guessed it, this one) in its presumed nanosecond of a lifespan.  The World Just Is is an absolutely beautiful, haunting song about a mother trying to gently explain just how complicated and dichotomous the world really is with only a guitar and flute employed to great effect.  The flip Michael is equally haunting and fleshed out a bit more with additional instruments (notably drums) and gorgeous, soaring harmonies in the bridge.  Think a lower-fi Vashti Bunyon's Winter is Blue and you're on the right track (pun intended).   I have contacted every trusted colleague and hardcore psych collector I know to try and find out any information about who Blue Joy were and not one of them had even heard of them (her?).  Anyone with ANY information please get in touch as I would like to provide at least a morsel of background info.  Certifiably rare as hens teeth.  This is the kind of 45 you can use to impress your know-it-all, music expert friends (and we all have one).   Vinyl is a gorgeous VG++ with 2 light surface scuffs at the start of Michael and labels are beautiful.  You will not be disappointed.  Listen on Soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/user-536209246/blue-joy-the-world-just-is and https://soundcloud.com/user-536209246/blue-joy-michael

I USE GOLDMINE GRADING:   MINT (SEALED) NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++:  VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE VG+:  AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG:  STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR:  FILLER COPY ONLY.  LOTS OF SCRATCHES
