TITLE: Blue Soul
LABEL: Jazzland, JLP 90, 1966 USA Mono Pressing
CONDITION: NM-/NM
SLEEVE: NM-, Cover shows only very minor aging (mostly due to the whiteness of the cover image), minor corner wear to front bottom left, hint of ringwear beginning to show near middle bottom of front cover.
RECORD: NM, record shows some minor paper scuffing, no feelable marks or scratches. I play graded most of this record and playback is strong and loud.
COMMENTS: This is the 1966 reissue (second pressing) of an amazing and (increasingly rare) 1959 Riverside session led by trumpeter Blue Mitchell. A sextet of legendary players: Wynton Kelly, Sam Jones, Philly Joe Jones, Curtis Fuller, and Jimmy Heath! It's really hard to find a better lineup than this. The tunes include 3 Benny Golson compositions and a couple by Heath. An affordable way to get close to an original of this killer LP!
