Blue Note BLP-1527 The Magnificant Thad Jones mono LP. Heavy vinyl double-sided flat-edge deep groove with the 767 Lexington Ave NYC address, RVG and ear in the trail-off wax, no "R", New York 21 on back cover.  Sidemen are Billy Mitchell, Barry Harris, Percy Heath, and Max Roach. Tunes are April in Paris/Billie-Doo/If I love Again/If Someone Had Told Me/Thedia.

Condition - Grading is Visual

The non-laminated cover is a nice VG+. The front cover shows some light wear but also retains a good amount of surface gloss, more than you will usually see on this cover. The left bottom edge has 5/8 inch of seam wear with some spots of light seam wear on the top edge and corners.  The lower right corner has a small ding.  No splits.  The back slick has writing in ink on the top right corner with some light age toning.  

LP is a glossy VG+ with some light sleeve spots and a few light hairines and scuffs, nothing feelable. Has been examined under bright light.

Labels are beautiful with few very faint spindle marks visible under angled light.

Overall not a perfect or NM but a very pretty copy,  you will not see many nicer. This copy should make all but the most demanding collector very happy. This is a rare one. Check my feedback for some recent high-end Blue Note LP sales.

Grading

Grading is NM, VG+, VG. The myriad of grading systems on Ebay is a good indicator of the subjective nature of grading. In my opinion NM is close to perfect with one or two very minor flaws, VG+ is above average and collectable and VG is average used condition but probably the best choice for playing. I'm a collector and try to describe LPs as accurately as possible, the way I would want them described to me. The pictures should at least give a good indication of the condition of the covers and labels. Please see my seller feedback for comments on my grading. If you don't agree with how I'm calling a record that is your privilege but with all respect please don't bid.

Packaging

Lp will be double boxed for protection using LP shipping boxes. The inner box will have the LP shipped outside of its cover in a plastic record bag with cardboard stiffeners.

Refund Policy 

I stand behind what I sell, LP may be returned in original condition for a full refund minus return shipping costs if I am notified within three days of receipt of LP. No rebates if you keep the LP. I don't end auctions early, there is no Buy It Now price, emails asking for a BIK price will be ignored. Good luck!
