Item Description:

Blue Note Records 1558 (mono) (made in USA)  - Sonny Rollins Volume 2 LP released in 1957. This is an original first pressing. The address on the labels is Blue Note Records, 47 West 63rd New York 23. The initials RVG are stamped in the dead wax on both sides of the record, recording by Rudy Van Gelder. There is a deep groove under the labels on both sides of the record. There is NOT an "R" in a circle under the "E" in "Note" on the labels. The "ear" is stamped in the dead wax on both sides of the record. The address on the back cover is Blue Note Records, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23. The vinyl is very heavy.

Personnel: Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, piano; Jay Jay Johnson, trombone; Sonny Rollins, tenor sax; Paul Chambers, bass; Art Blakey, drums.

The record is in excellent VG++ condition. The laminated cover is in VG+ condition; spine is tight and intact. The bottom seam is split for 1&1/2 inches at the leading edge. Top seam is not split.  No writing or holes. There are a few brown spots on the back cover. There is an old sticker from the record shop where this record was originally purchased on the back cover.
