Description
Original Blue Note pressing of this famous Blue Note 1558 Vol. 2 album. Sonny Rollins, Jay Jay Johnson, Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, Paul Chambers, Art Blakey.
This album is of extreme musical importance due to the highest caliber of these individual musicians at their peak in the late Fifties. Equally important is the quality of the jacket photography and layout. Blue Note really broke new ground with their clean designs using lbue on black photograps and great typefaces.
This album is from my personal, single owner collection and was purchased on January 23, 1962 as marked in ink on the back of the cover. It is free of scratches and plays very well. It has the "deep groove", and is marked "RVG", has the "ear" and is marked BN-LP-1558-A-2 on the first side, plus another marking 9 M on side 1 only.
The cover is in great shape. On the front, there is some minor peeling of the glossy membrane, which is visible on the photos.
