Description
ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE MONO VINYL - FIRST PRESSING!
Up for auction is a really well-kept FIRST MONO PRESSING of Donald Byrd's hard bop classic, The Cat Walk (Blue Note BLP 4075). It's a wonderful album, featuring dedicated compositions by Duke Pearson which elevate it above just a straight 'blowing session'. Plastylite 'ear' P symbol and 'RVG' stamp are both present in the runout deadwax, with NEW YORK USA labels. The audio is superb, punchy and clear. I have fully play-tested the vinyl, so my grading is based on how the record actually sounds, as well as how it looks.
Vinyl has Plastylite 'ear' indicating an original Blue Note pressing, NEW YORK USA labels, and 'RVG' stamp. The vinyl is in Excellent condition, with no background noise during the music - there are a couple of light hairline marks on side 2, but these do not affect playback in any way.
The laminated, dimpled front cover is a superb example of Reid Miles' Blue Note designs - a great shot of Donald Byrd complete with vintage Jaguar! Cover is in strong VG+ condition, with a small amount of laminate peel at the edge, a 1in signature and evidence of light ringwear on the back.
Inner: blank non-BN.

Note that I separate the vinyl from the outer sleeve for postage to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me, and in the way I'd like to receive them.
All items are play-tested throughout, and I strive to be comprehensive and fair in grading descriptions. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to help.
