The BLUE BANANA:
MY LUV / SPICKS AND SPECKS
(Kanwic Records HCFS-152, compatible stereo)

EX/ VG+(strong)

(graded disc/ cvr) Nothing to mention on the disc; the sleeve looks pretty nice but it has some creasing which is primarily noticeable when looking at the plain blue glossy back of the sleeve. A bit of ringwear is noticeable there as well. Seams are in great shape, as is the actual image on the pic sleeve.

Really good original garage tune that gets promoted to "great" during the instrumental solo section in the middle--rabid fuzztone, manic, edgy guitar leads and dissonant keyboard stabs help the boys earn the coveted "psych-punk" tag. At least, that's my opinion. The flip's certainly fine, a legit cover of the BeeGees' "Spicks and Specks" but it won't be ending up on any comps anytime soon (well...maybe on the internet...)
Record has gotta be from '68 I guess, if those powder-blue, Nehru collar satin/poly-blend pj top "band uniforms" with the adjustible waist side-sash are any indication, and a "compatible stereo" 45 was still a bit of a novelty then (tho' stereo 45's had been a "novelty" for many years by that point). Anyhow, it's a great 45, listen for yourself below:

"My Luv"

"Spicks and Specks"

Singles are conservatively graded taking into account both how the record looks and sounds. A NM record is glossy and shows little or no signs of having been handled. Labels have no writing, stains or marks. It can be expected to play back essentially flawlessly. An EX record will have the slightest signs of wear but still retains a gloss; while labels may have one or two minor imperfections (label scans  allow you to see for yourself). VG+ records will show more signs of wear visually but quite often this light scuffing does not effect playback. Consult the sound files. A VG record has more wear to both the grooves and the label; it will still deliver an enjoyable listening experience. It may be nothing more than a couple of light clicks--nothing ear-shattering. I will not sell any records that give you that "listening next to a crackling fire" effect, or that play back with groove distortion (i.e. "blown-out"), guaranteed!
