Description
Ora Nelle 712 by Johnny Williams / Johnny Young
Worried Man Blues / Money Taking Woman = E
Excellent condition, light surface marks, plays with some surface noise (hear sample), vocals with mandolin & guitar, Johnny Young’s first recording, scarce, Chicago, 1947
I have been collecting & playing traditional blues for over 35 years. Many of the records offered for sale have been in my collection for some time. Records are graded visually and confirmed by playing. I grade 78s conservatively using the VJM scale. This means records graded N- are nearly spotless and records graded G, although considerably worn, still play with music being slightly dominant to surface noise. Specific flaws will be noted along with the grade.
note: side b sounds to me like the voice is too high at 78 RPM. I have included a second sample with the Johnny Young side slowed down and the key dropped from G to F#. Not a typical blues key but it sounds better to my ear. You be the judge for yourself.
