The two books by William Ferris (born 1942) that are offered here are...
BLUES FROM THE (Mississippi) DELTA : Inscribed, then SIGNED by Ferris on the title page. Originally published in 1978, this is the 1984 edition with added material. The book is softcover, 226 pages with 18 chapters, notes, bibliography, discography, filmography, and 53 B&W photos & illustrations. This copy is in Very Good-to-Near Fine condition with very mild overall wear.
MISSISSIPPI FOLK VOICES: Softcover, 55 pages with 15 B&W photos and illustrations. It was SIGNED by Ferris in my presence when he spoke at the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville. It does not have a date of publication in it, so I asked him to write it under his signature. This book was originally issued with a record album of the same title, and this copy was somehow separated. This copy is in overall Good condition: There is a 2-1/2" x 1/2" abrasion on the photo of the front cover. It looks like it was where someone removed a name label. There is also a 3/4" stain on the front cover that goes to page 6, but it gets considerably smaller with each page. If I had to guess, I would say it is most likely a coffee stain. There is some mild sunning to the back cover. No torn pages, smells, writing, or underlining. Copies of this book are scarce. Signed copies are extremely RARE. Both books will be carefully packaged to insure safe shipping.
