Description

  • Artist & Title: Bob Dylan ?– Bob Dylan
  • Label & Cat #: 1962 Columbia ?– CL 1779 Mono *variant first demonstration copy with a white sticker on Side 1. "CBS" at top of label under "COLUMBIA" wordmark. This copy has matrix numbers: Side 1 - XLP-55619-1B  T, Side 2 - XLP-55620-1A  T  matching the matrix info for being a Terre Haute Press. There is also a symbol with 4 lines on Side 2 that I cannot reference anywhere (see photo) Released on March 17, 1962 the "6-eye" label was discontinued by Columbia after this album, so no other Dylan album has it. 
  • Vinyl Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+) *superb fidelity of sound and almost entire record plays excellent without any noise disturbances; vinyl displays a glossy finish with some scuff marks on both sides (2 longer ones on Side 2),  but they only impacted play in a few instances (a couple 'whispers' of surface noise on "Man of Constant Sorrow" and also on "House of The  Risin' Sun" where there were a few muted lo-grade ticks)
  • Cover Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+) * "4" on the rear in the lower right corner indicates that the sleeve was fabricated by Imperial Packing Co., Inc. of Indianapolis, IN. Nice graphics and printing on jacket. There is light shelf and storage wear that includes a few small creases and a crease with slight bubbling by guitar and thumb blem by opening edge (see photos); main flaw is wear along spine seam  (see photos) and some color wear along top/bottom edge; radio station stamp on rear
  • Notes: Debut studio album by Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. The album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody". 
    • All photos are actual images of the item for sale.
    • All records are sleeved and removed from jacket to prevent any seam splitting, and both then shipped inside a poly album sleeve.
