Description

U.S. 1971 Columbia Records (KG 31120) double LP of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Volume 2.  The album is factory sealed--there are 2 record company stickers on the front cover and a price sticker from a record store.  There is an approximately 1 1/2 " split in the seam where the LP opens up (on the right-hand side) and there is a tiny bit of wear where the shrink is torn on the bottom (also on the right-hand side).  Still, it is almost impossible to find a U.S. legitimately sealed copy of this album, which is 40 years old, anymore.  The cover has a picture of Dylan from the concert for Bangladesh which had taken place a few months earlier.  This greatest hits collection is very different and, in many ways, better than his 1st greatest hits.  This one was put together w/ Bob Dylan's involvement who allegedly chose the songs and sequenced the album.  It contains a lot of his big songs though they weren't necessarily "hits" and if they were hits, it was by other artists, not Dylan, the exception being "Lay Lady Lay."  This was Dylan's concept for the album.  This compilation spans the years 1963- 1971 and is a real representation of the diversity of Bob Dylan.
