Bob Dylan - Black Nite Crash - 1971/72: Unofficial U.K. release, Reissue.
Side A was recorded in April 12, 1963 at New York Town Hall, New York City.Side B was recorded May 5, 1966, Adelphi Theatre, Dublin, Ireland, during the acoustic half of the concert.
The vinyl has no matrix code, or anything on the runout of both sides.
The following is from the website ‘Bob’s Boots’……
“ This very rare original English LP cannot easily be identified visually. It has a blank white cover and blank black or gray labels. There is no matrix or markings on the LP, and no song separation grooves.There is also another 1972 PP release of this LP from a different master. It has a brown and white 'wrap around' Paranoid Productions insert, blank orange labels, song separation, and a matrix: A - 1 / A - 2. Some of the original 1971 LPs have been found in this cover as well.”
The vinyl is possibly 180g or near to it. It is a lot sturdier than the average 140g vinyls. It is in good condition ( released over 50 yrs ago ) which I’ve attempted to illustrate in the photos. I’ve done my best to photo the light scratches and unavoidable hairlines. The scratch in the last photo I managed to emphasise in the light - the second to last photo is the same scratch but a more accurate indication that it’s a hairline scratch. None of the scratches/hairlines are deep or have an effect on the playing. There are play lines around the spindle hole but the label is excellent, no printing on it at all. The vinyl has been handled with care over the years, the label is an indication of this. The cover is a printed cream coloured sheet which has attracted some marks and dirt around the edges over time. It’s a ‘wraparound’ of cartridge or drawing paper, front and back of the album, which isn’t glued to the cardboard sleeve, ref photo. A couple of short tears on the paper cover. The sleeve is plain white, no printing on it. This is the 1972 U.K. version of the 1971 ‘unofficial’ release ‘ While the Establishment Burns ‘.
There aren’t any copies of this album for sale anywhere online. I did find a copy of ‘While the Establishment Burns’, 1971, for sale on eBay for £137.
