For sale is a great listeners copy of the classic folk-rock masterpiece, Blonde On Blonde, by Bob Dylan. His seventh studio record released in June 1966 was one of the first double albums in rock history. The album peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200 in the US and at #3 in the UK. It features the top 20 hits, “Rainy Day Women No. 12 & 35” and “I Want You” as well as several other greats. “Visions Of Johanna”, “Just Like A Woman”, “Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again” and “Most Likely You Go Your Way And I’ll Go Mine” are all considered classics. Blonde On Blonde was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and in 2020 was ranked #38 on Rolling Stone’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. This copy is a 1st Pitman Press with Columbia 2-eye labels. Inside the gatefold, there are nine photos instead of the seven in later presses. One of them is of Italian model, Claudia Cardinal, which had to be removed because it was used without permission.
Vinyl is play graded VG+. Both records have a few light visible surface marks that are all superficial. They both also have a slight storage warp that does not affect playback. Vinyl plays with faint background noise if any and neither record has any skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Gatefold cover is in VG- condition. There is shelf wear on corners and seams. Rip on top of title edge is taped. No other splits. Title is legible. Stains, scuffing and creases on front and back. Stains inside gatefold along top as well as inside both sleeves. Despite all this, it still looks good and protects vinyl. Please see pics.
