Bob Dylan Blonde On Blonde Rare Cdn mono 1A Columbia C2L 41 VG+
This is the rare original 1966 Canadian mono 1 A pressing of Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde on Columbia C2L 41, with red Columbia "Guaranteed High Fidelity" labels. The Inside cover contains the original 9 picture layout with the Claudia Cardinale photo.
This is an interesting album to research as this early version apparently contains the very earliest mixes of these songs to be released anywhere. Reportedly these are the mixes done immediately after the Nashville sessions, and were apparently not intended for release. These mixes are not available in any other release, in any other country, vinyl or otherwise. The most interesting thing about these mixes is that they have much better audio fidelity because they were not over-compressed like the US mono was. Also, two tracks are presented in their original form, without the tape splices that forever altered them. As, they decided to splice directly to some of the 4-track session tapes, cutting out and discarding sections, and replacing them with other sections in revisions that ultimately became the US and other country mono releases.
This why the vocal slips on "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands" are only present on this pressing, as they cut them out of the session tape and replaced them with parts of another take after this mix was done. The major edit to this song occurs when Dylan fumbles the words at the end of the fourth verse, when on all other versions (including CD and vinyl remasters), several seconds of another take were spliced in because Dylan loses some of the words on the original tape as heard here. This is the complete, unedited master take of this song, which runs slightly longer on this album than on any other issue of Blonde on Blonde.
