Description
This is a first US pressing of Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan pressed at the Santa Maria pressing plant (see “XSM” at three o’ clock on the label). According to a few websites, this is a first pressing because of the big photo of the girl in the middle of the gatefold named Claudia G.-something was later removed from subsequent pressings, and the typo on disc 1, side 2, track 2, with the song titled “Memphis Blues Again.”
I would grade this a safe G+/VG.
The vinyl has clearly been shown some love over the years, with the labels having some spindle wear and several scratches on each side. This was my play copy for awhile and I recall deep cleaning it which helped, but expect there to be clicks. Disc 2 side 1 does look like it could be a decent VG however. I also remember that it played through.
The sleeve is a pretty safe VG. The spine is legible and not flattened, the front cover doesn’t have much ring wear, although the back cover does, and the old owners name written in the corner. Corners seem to be decent too. No OG generic Columbia sleeves, which have been replaced by two mofi sleeves. The outer sleeve is protected in a plastic sleeve. This cover may even be a high VG or low VG+.
